lDP camp: FG hands over 36 hostel rooms in Patigi to Kwara Govt
The Federal Government on Tuesday handed over 36 rooms constructed at Internally Displaced Persons (lDP) Centre in Patigi, headquarters of the Patigi Local Government area of Kwara to the state.
The 36 rooms which were yet to be provided with facilities was handed to the Kwara Emergency Management Agency by the Representatives of the Presidential Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation, Mallam Ghali Umar.
According to Ghali, the initiative of the construction of Hostels for the IDPS is one of the core objectives of the Federal Government aimed at ameliorating the sufferings of the people of the Area.
He advised the state Government and the Patigi Local Government Council to make judicious use of the 36 rooms Hostel accommodation for the well-being of the residents in the area.
Responding after receiving the project the secretary to the office of the state Emergency and Relief Service, Mrs. Adaran Mutuinrayo appreciated the gesture and praised the Federal Government over the project.
“The project would no doubt go a long way to improve the living standard and reduce the challenges normally face by the IDPS in the state during natural disasters,” Adaran said.
The Chairman of the Patigi Local Government Alhaji Jibril Salihu, commended President Muhammadu Buhari, the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki and Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, on the approval granted for the rehabilitation of the IDPS centre.
The Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Chattar Umar, represented by Saaba of Patigi, Alhaji Muisa Umar, said the entire community is happy with the Federal and State Government for the show of love over the completion of the Hostel.
