National Assembly installs COVID-19 sanitising devices

The National Assembly has installed COVID-19 automatic sanitising devices on all entrances to both chambers in a bid to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inside the tunnel-like chamber is a chest containing hand sanitiser, apart from an automatic sanitiser which sprays misty substances on anyone who walks through it, apparently to kill germs or viruses that may be in clothing and bags.

Meanwhile, Senate on resumption from its eight weeks’ vacation yesterday morning immediately dissolved into an executive session.

Among items on the order paper of the Senate were the presentation and consideration of the report of the Committee on Finance on the 2021 – 2023 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP).

The Senate President Ahmad Lawan is also expected to read President Muhammadu Buhari’s letter transmitting the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) to the National Assembly.
