NLC, TUC blast Aregbesola for making U-turn on promotion of workers in Osun

The joint labour union movements in Osun State, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Monday blasted Governor Rauf Aregbesola for reneging on his promise to promote and pay workers promptly in the state.

The unions revealed this in a statement signed and released by Comrade Jacob Adekoni, the state chairman of the NLC on behalf of both both unions (NLC and TUC).

Press Release from the Nigeria Labour Congress/Trade Union Congress, Osun State
The joint labour movements of Osun State wish to inform our highly enduring members that the recent promotion, conversion, confirmation and other “coined” largesse as announced by Mr Rauf Aregbesola has just been discovered to be fake!

In a meeting held with Mr Governor recently, he made it clearly known that the State is not financially buoyant to finance the world-wide announced promotion as he could only give it nominally without a particular fixed date for the financial aspect of the circular.

The Labour leaders wish to inform the Congress that we are not party to this shady, nefarious, dubious, wicked act of the Government too unprecedented in any part of the country here in Nigeria and anywhere in the whole world!

We shall use all labour machineries to avert this “New Syndrome” in Osun while we rely on your prayers and supports always.

The issue of modulated salary which ought to have stopped with March salary (end of first quarter of 2018) as agreed is another burning issue in the cooking.

We enjoin workers to be steadfast and have undiluted trust in the Labour Movements.

Aluta continues, victory is certain.

Comrade Jacob Adekomi
President, NLC,
For Osun Labour Movements.
