NSCDC arrests five for alleged kidnapping, other crimes in Sokoto
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Sokoto State Command, has arrested one Abubakar Abdullahi for allegedly kidnapping a 14-year-old girl and demanding N5 million ransom.
The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr Saleh Dada, told newsmen on Monday that Abdullahi was apprehended by his men through careful intelligence along Mangoro road in Sokoto metropolis.
Dada said the suspect, along with two accomplices, were trailed to their hideout, and the girl was successfully rescued from the abductors.
He added that the victim had been reunited with her parents.
He said another suspect, Junaidu Sambo, was arrested at Gagi area in Sokoto, who was alleged to have lured two students and had anal sex with one of them after sending the other on errand.
The Commandant said the suspect succeeded in penetrating the boy through the anus, adding that the victim was transported to sexual referral center for treatment and further support.
According to him, another suspect, Aminu Suleiman, was apprehended for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in Kwamberu area in Sokoto metropolis.
Dada said the survivor was five months pregnant from the unlawful sexual relationship with the suspect.
The Commandant added that Jabir Lawal was arrested in connection with an alleged offence of raping a five-year old girl in Hubbare area, while Abdurrauf Muhammad was also alleged to have had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl in Mana area all in Sokoto metropolis.
He said all the offences occurred between Aug. 17 to 20, noting that the cases had been prepared and would be handed over for prosecution as provided by the law.
