NSCDC parades nine crime suspects in Kwara
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara Command, on Monday paraded nine crime suspects arrested in the state during the yuletide.
The State Commandant of the corps, Mr Ayinla Makinde, who paraded the suspects in Ilorin, said that they were arrested at various locations in the state capital.
He alleged that the suspects were arrested for vandalising street lights, electricity transformers and cables as well as being in possession of hard drugs.
Makinde listed the areas where the suspects were picked up as Oja Gbooro, Isale Koko, Shao Garage, Isale Kanike, and Ipata Market.
The command had earlier deployed 2000 personnel and promised to make Kwara crime-free and safe during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“We have told these criminals that Kwara is not a safe haven for them.
“We promised before Christmas to make the state safe for residents and those coming for yuletide celebrations; this is making good our promises.
“The command will not relent until we arrest each and every one of those suspects that are at large and bring them to justice,” the commandant said.
He said that the suspects would be transferred to the appropriate department for further investigation and prosecution within the ambit of the law.
