The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe as the winner of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

He defeated the incumbent senator Bukola Saraki, polling 123, 808 votes to unseat the Senate President who scored 68, 994 votes.
The Chief Returning Officer for the Senatorial district, Prof Olatunbosun Owoyomi declared Oloriegbe as the Senator-elect having scored the highest number of votes among other 22 contestants for the senate seat.
