Osun 2018: ADP Condemns Attacks on Members
Osun State Chapter of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) has Condemned in strong terms the attack on members of the party in Oriade Local Government Council Area of the state.
This was contained in a response issued and signed by the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Elder Ayo Fakeye.
Hon. Taiwo Fatiregun was reportedly brutalised in his home town this morning.
Recall that Fatiregun, the formal Executive Secretary of Oriade Local Government was defected recently from All Progressive Congress (APC) to Action Democratic Party (ADP).
According to Fakeye, such barbaric attack ought to have gone with the past.
“The era of imposition and attack on members of the opposition political parties ought to belong to the relics of our nation’s political history.
“But in a situation where members of our party were attacked during a meeting in Ijebu-Jesa, to me, such crude attack is unjustifiable,” Fakeye stressed.
The ADP spokesman therefore called on the security agencies in the state to investigate the unfortunate incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“I want to use this opportunity to task the various officers and men of the security agencies in the state to investigate the unwarranted attack on our party members and bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book,” Fakeye further stated.
The senior party official however charged members of the party not to be discouraged, as the attack is a signal to the fact that success is certain for the party come September 22 governorship election.
“My appeal to the members of our party in the state is that they should see the recent attack on our members as a sign that ADP has become the party to beat in the fast-approaching September 22 governorship election,”
He therefore wished the victims of the attack, quick recovery.
