Massive vote buying has characterised on-going APC Primaries in Osun. The primaries is being organised through the long-discarded Option A4 across the 332 wards in the state.
A frontline aspirant and current Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti this morning stepped down from participating in the process citing a flawed andx skewed process.
A correspondent of newsclickng.com who has been on ground in Osun ahead of the primaries gathered that the two camps engaged in this vote buying are the Ileri Oluwa campaign organisation promoted by current Chief of Staff, Gboyega Oyetola and Lasun Yusuff campaign organisation being promoted by the current Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuf.
Both camps are offering as much as between N300,000 and N350,000 per ward to gain electoral advantage per ward.
Efforts to confirm and seek the basis from both camps proved abortive, but a media aide of Tiwa n Tiwa L’Osun a political group being promoted by one of the prominent aspirant, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (K-Rad) told newsclickng.com they can never be part of such despicable act.
“What our principal is offering is a future assured program that will take people out of poverty, rather than mortgage it”.
“Those offering money have nothing to offer.”, he quipped.
This latest development makes nonsense of the claim that direct primaries is less expensive and more democratic than indirect primaries.
