It was on record and history would never forget the kind of uncommon support and loyalty that the people of Osogbo gave to the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola before and during his 1st regime through to his reelection and up until now.
The city of Osogbo has been engraved on the mountain of history as not just a friend of Ogbeni in need but certainly in need.
In 2007, Osogbo people overwhelmingly voted for Action Congress, in 2011 it was Action Congress of Nigeria which ensured that Osun was declared as the only state where ACN’s Presidential Candidate, Nuhu Ribadu won, and again in 2014 Osogbo ensured that Ogbeni was reelected the same way all APC candidates within Osogbo Constituencies won in 2015.
As a people, Osogbo has met and reviewed all the aspirants across party lines, their programs, manifestoes and policy statements but could not find any aspirant more competent, prepared and/or versatile to continue, meet up and/or surpass the good work of the incumbent administration than her noble sons. This was the outcome of Osogbo General Assembly held on 18th June, 2018.
These sons: Barr. Kunle Adegoke of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Adeolu Durotoye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Pastor Philip Omodeni of the African Democratic Party (ADP) have proved to the world that they are no push-overs and have navigated the length and breath of the state in appreciation of laden potentials in various communities as well as meeting them to intimate the communities with the opportunities more than any other aspirant from their respective parties.
As the parties hold their primaries from Friday 20th July 2018, I enjoin all the voters in the primaries, to as a matter of patriotism and urge for development of Osun cast their votes for each of them respectively.
This is the sure way to move Osun beyond its present height positively and to present electorates in the September 22nd poll with best alternatives to choose from.
