Over 30 lives were lost on Thursday afternoon in a road accident that happened on Ilesha/Akure expressway when a truck heading towards Akure lost break and ran over several other vehicles coming from the opposite direction, Osun Daily report.
Eyewitnesses told OSUN DAILY that policemen conducting stop and search operation, had stop some vehicles coming Akure end of the road.
But, “suddenly a truck heading towards Akure that had lost break and with stiff steering, coming from Ilesha end appeared and ran over vehicles already stopped by the policemen.
Though, official figure of victims has not been released, even as men of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officers were busy at the scene of the accident, evacuating the dead and rescuing the injured, multiple sources at told this medium that not less than 30 people lost their lives in the accident.
