Oyetola, Aregbesola, others predict victory for Buhari, commend INEC

Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun said on Saturday  that President Muhammadu Buhari would win the presidential election by a landslide victory.

Oyetola said this while casting his vote along  side his wife, Kafayat,  at Ward 001, Unit 002 at Olopo in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.

The governor said the president had transformed the country and deserved to be re-elected.

Oyetola said the people of the state would vote massively for him to ensure his victory.

He also said that the APC candidates for the National Assembly election would win convincingly.

The governor, who expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election by the Independent Electoral Commission  (INEC), however urged the electoral body to ensure that the results reflected the wishes of the people.

“With what I saw during the election, the election has been free and fair,’’ Oyetola said.

The governor also commended the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the voters to exercise their civic right.

“I am satisfied with the process, so far so good,  and I am happy everything is going on well.

“I also commended INEC for the timely arrival of ad hoc staff and voting materials.

“The security operatives at the polling units also ensured that everything went smoothly and I have to commend them for that.

“With what I saw today, we are advancing in democracy and Nigerians should be allowed to pursue democracy,’’ he said.

Also speaking, a former of governor of the state, Mr Rauf Aregbesola,  commended INEC on the timely arrival of voting materials.

Aregbesola , while casting his vote along with his wife, Sherifat,  at Ilofin Ward 008, Unit 001, Ilesa, said the president would win the presidential election.

He said there was no doubt that the president would win with a large margin.

Also speaking, a former Minister of Police, Mr Jelili Adesiyan, expressed optimism that the president would emerge victorious.

Adesiyan said this while casting his vote at Unit 008, Ward 3 , Ile-Oke,  in Ode-Omu,  Ayedaade Local Government Area of the state.

The former minister said the main opposition PDP would be shocked by  the outcome of the result.
