The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the National Assembly to ‎summon President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet ministers who it alleged abandoned their scheduled meeting with investors in the United States for a shopping spree.

The PDP, in a statement, 0n Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, alleged that the ministers involved included Lai Mohammed (Information); Audu Ogbeh‎ (Agriculture); Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu (Science and Technology) and Babatunde Fashola (Power).

Others named in the statement were, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu ‎(State for Petroleum Resources); Kemi Adeosun (Finance) and Kayode Fayemi (Solid Minerals). The party said, “The ministers reportedly abandoned the foreign investors and went on shopping spree in highbrow shops of the United States, at the time Nigerians were looking up to them to negotiate deals and bring investments into the country.”

It added, “It is now clear to Nigerians why the APC and its incompetent Federal Government have not been able to attract any meaningful foreign direct investment to the country in the last three years of President Buhari’s administration. Instead, the ones it inherited are pulling out.”
