Police nab two armed robbery suspects in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended two members of a four-man armed robbery gang along Harvey Road, Sabo, Yaba, Punchng report.

The other two members of the gang were said to have escaped, and the police have intensified a manhunt for them.

It was learnt that the incident occurred on Thursday around 8.30pm.

A source, who preferred not to be named, told PUNCH Metro that the hoodlums had succeeded in robbing some houses and passers-by when the police arrested two of them.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bala Elkana, confirmed the incident in a statement he made available to PUNCH Metro on Sunday.

The PPRO identified the hoodlums as Tunde Adekunle, 26, and Joshua Adegboye, 28, both of no fixed addresses.

Elkana added that the two arrested suspects had confessed to being members of a deadly armed robbery gang terrorising Yaba areas.

The PPRO said the police also recovered one locally-made short gun with one unexpended cartridge and one berretta pistol with two rounds of live ammunition from the suspects.

He added that the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
