The immediate past president, Dr. Goodlock Jonathan yesterday visited former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida in Minna, in the Niger State capital.
The former President, who came by road with six Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs), arrived the hilltop residence of Babangida at about 10:24a.m.
Jonathan had visited Babangida on October 17, 2017, a few days to the national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
On arrival, according to a source, Jonathan went straight into a private meeting with the former military president.
The source said a PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Niger State for the 2019 elections, Alhaji Hanafi Muazu Sudan, accompanied Jonathan on the visit.
The meeting reportedly lasted close to two hours because the former president drove out of Minna at about 12:47p.m.
Details of the discussion were not known, but the presence of Hanafi Sudan at the discussion fuelled speculation that it would not be unconnected with the 2019 polls, especially the gubernatorial primaries of the PDP in the state.
It was also learnt that during the visit, Babangida sent for some leaders of the PDP in the state, among them was the state chairman, Alhaji Tanko Beji, and former Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu.
These PDP chieftains, it was gathered, are to meet with Babangida this weekend
