Just in: Russian plane crash kills all 71 people on board

A Russian An-148 aircraft operated by Saratov Airlines went missing from the radar shortly after take-off from the Domodedovo international airport.

The footage appears to show the wreckage of the aircraft with 71 people feared to be dead.

A source told Russian media there were “no survivors”, however, this has not been confirmed by authorities.

The plane was understood to be carrying 65 passengers and six crew members.

According to news service RIA Nowosti, the plane crashed in the Ramensky District.

Local reports suggest that the plane crashed near Argunovo villages, just 80km outside of Moscow.

Rescue teams are believed to be heading towards the crash site on foot, unable to get there with vehicles.

Russia’s Investigative Committee has sent forensic teams to the crash site and the nation’s Transportation Minister Maxim Sokolov is also said to be on his way to the area.

Russia President Vladimir Putin offered his condolences to the relatives of those lost in the crash.

Mr Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said: “The president has instructed the government to set up a special commission over the plane crash in the Moscow region.
