Rotary club gives out free 100 cataract surgery

The Rotary club  of Omole-Golden in conjunction with few other Rotary clubs gave out 100 free Cataract surgery in Ogun State.

The project tagged as “Cataract Surgical Mission” was held at Ace Medicare clinics ltd, Ota Ogun State from 24th to 25th February 2022.

Speaking about the organizations mission, Rotarian Basirat Giwa who is the central resource person for the project noted that Rotary club is all about propagating the essence of service to humanity through all its members profession.

She emphasized that there are several other people who still need help due to the country`s economic deprivation.

Rotarian Favour Madu, the President of Omole-Golden Rotary club and also the lead sponsor said that the project is a continuation of a project held in January. “ The phase 1 of the project was held in January 22, 2022. That was a free health check/ eye screening. It was held at Olowora primary health center where over 500 people benefitted from it. That was how we discovered the number of people who needed the cataract surgery.

Other Rotary clubs who joined in sponsoring the eye surgery includes; Rotary club of New Lagos Ikeja, Rotary club of Akowonjo, Rotary club of Lagos Palmgrove Estate and Rotary club of Arepo Longbridge.
