When it comes to fruity drinks, nothing beats a strawberry daiquiri. It’s refreshing, sweet, tangy, icy cold, and delicious.
Each sip is bursting with juicy strawberry flavour.
The icy-cold strawberry daiquiri is a classic. Don’t waste your money on a pre-mixed daiquiri mix.
Use fresh ingredients and make it from scratch instead. You won’t need that much, just limes, strawberries, rum, and simple syrup.
You can have it ready in about 5 minutes or less.
It has a fresh, pure, natural strawberry flavor. It’s also delightfully sweet without being overly so. Without the store-bought mix, the strawberry flavor shines through.
There’s nothing artificial about it. In my opinion, it’s the only reasonable way to make a daiquiri.
Ingredients
You need the following ingredients for this daiquiri recipe:
- Strawberries – Use a combination of fresh and frozen strawberries for this recipe. The fresh ones provide the boldest, brightest flavor. The frozen ones ensure the drink stays icy cold for longer.
- Simple syrup – You can make simple syrup by warming equal parts water and sugar over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until all the sugar dissolves.
- Lime – You need a lime wedge to help rim your glass for salting. You also need freshly squeezed lime juice for the drink itself. Don’t substitute the bottled kind unless you have no other option.
- White rum
- Salt – For salting the rim. I like to use colorful salt, like pink Himalayan, but any coarse, chunky salt will work. For a sweeter drink, you can use sugar instead.
How to Make a Strawberry Daiquiri
Follow these steps for the perfect strawberry daiquiri:
1. Prepare the glasses. Run a lime wedge around the rim, then dip the rim in salt or sugar. If you have time, chill the glasses for at least 30 minutes beforehand.
2. Mix. Combine the fresh and frozen strawberries, simple syrup, lime juice, and rum in a blender. Blend it on high until the drink is smooth.
3. Pour. Pour the drink into the prepared glasses, and enjoy!
What Other Fruits Can I Use?
Strawberry daiquiris are one of the most popular daiquiri types. However, you can make daiquiris with a myriad of different fruits, including:
- Mangoes
- Peaches
- Raspberries
- Pineapples
- Bananas
- Kiwis
- Passionfruit
- Oranges
You can even mix fruits for a more complex flavor. Try making a pomegranate raspberry daiquiri next time. You can thank me later.
