To make butter at home from milk, start by whipping heavy cream until fat clumps. Agitate the cream to form butter, then strain out the liquid. Store in the fridge for short-term use or freeze for up to 9 months.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (Optional)

Directions

  1. Pour heavy cream into a food processor or blender. Process on high until butter separates, about 10 minutes.
