What to do in the last days of Ramadan

189

The last days of Ramadan are considered the most spiritually important. Many Muslims increase their worship because Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) is believed to fall within the last 10 nights. 🌙✨

Here are some meaningful things to focus on:

1. Increase Prayer (Salah) 🤲

  • Perform the five daily prayers consistently.

  • Pray extra voluntary prayers (Nafl).

  • Attend night prayers (Taraweeh or Qiyam-ul-Layl) if possible.

2. Seek Laylat al-Qadr 🌌

Muslims believe this night is better than 1,000 months of worship.

Common practice:

  • Pray late-night prayers.

  • Recite the dua:
“Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni”
(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.)

3. Read and Reflect on the Qur’an 📖

  • Try to complete the Qur’an if you have not already.

  • Reflect on the meaning, not just recitation.

4. Give Charity (Sadaqah) 💝

  • Increase charity to those in need.

  • Many Muslims also pay Zakat al-Fitr before the end of Ramadan.

5. Make Lots of Du’a (Supplication) 🙏

Use this time to ask Allah for:

  • Forgiveness

  • Guidance

  • Health and protection for family

  • Success in this life and the hereafter

6. Do I’tikaf (Spiritual Retreat) 🕌

If possible, some Muslims stay in the mosque during the last 10 days to focus completely on worship.

7. Repent and Reflect ❤️

  • Ask for forgiveness sincerely.

  • Reflect on how to continue good habits after Ramadan.

Simple routine many people follow in the last 10 nights:

  • Pray Isha and Taraweeh

  • Read Qur’an

  • Make du’a

  • Pray Tahajjud before Suhoor
