Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade has been announced as the new Alaafin of Oyo, according to a statement by Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade.

Following consultations and divinations, the Oyomesi recommended Prince Akeem, and the appointment was approved by Governor Seyi Makinde on 10 January 2025.
