According to reports, 11 commissioners in Taraba state have switched from the PDP to the APC, which is currently in power.
This significant switch from the opposition to the ruling party occurs just hours before Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima’s APC Presidential campaign rally in the state.
President Muhammadu Buhari, is anticipated to welcome the defectors into the APC at the event. The presidential election is less than 16 days away at the time of this defection.
The deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Manir Dan’Iya, is rumored to have defected to the APC, although the deputy governor has disputed this.
According to reports, the deputy governor’s press secretary, Aminu Abubakar, had denied party resignation rumors.
The deputy Governor is still a legitimate PDP member in the state and is running for senator in the upcoming general elections, according to Abubakar.
He urges his supporters, in particular the PDP members in the state, to dismiss the letter that is going around since it is the creation of his opponents’ imagination.
