Out of 38 directors shortlisted for permanent secretary roles in the Federal Civil Service, 19 did not pass the qualifying exam, according to a memo from Dr. Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the examination committee, released by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) on Tuesday. The exams took place on Monday, November 11, 2024.

The Federal Government, through the OHCSF, began the selection process in October to fill vacant permanent secretary positions across eight states.

Updating on the progress, OHCSF’s Director of Press, Eno Olotu, noted, “Of the 38 eligible directors who sat for the exam, 19 have passed the first stage and will move on to the second stage, which will assess their competency in using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in government operations on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.”

Olotu highlighted the rigorous, three-stage recruitment process aimed at selecting only the most qualified candidates.

Those who succeed in the second stage will advance to a final assessment on Friday, November 15, 2024, where they will be evaluated by a panel of top officials and private sector representatives.
