Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate, and his “Obidients” supporters, according to Soludo, pose no threat to the APGA.
The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, has endorsed Professor Peter Umeadi’s bid for the APGA’s Presidential nomination.
The ‘Obidient movement’, he claimed, was a branch of the People’s Democratic Party.
The Anambra Governor asserted that APGA continued to be the third-largest political party in the nation in a statement released on Sunday by his special adviser on political matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu.
Supporting any other party, according to Soludo, could harm APGA’s chances in the 2023 election because the primary opposition party, in his opinion, did not treat the South-East fairly by zoning its Presidency to the North.
The statement partly read, “APGA remains the third largest political party in Nigeria, considering the number of political offices it has won.
“APGA has a state governor, members of the National Assembly and members of the state assemblies.
“APGA does not consider the wave of the ‘Obidient Movement’ as a threat towards achieving its set goals in 2023.
“The LP and the ‘Obidient Movement’ are offshoots of the PDP. Therefore, they pose a big threat to PDP, not APGA”.
Under APGA, Soludo had won the state’s Governorship.
