The Labour Party has stated that its planned Presidential campaign rally in Ekiti and Ondo states has been postponed.
According to a statement, the party laid the blame on inevitable and unusual circumstances that were out of its control.
However, the LP pledged to announce new dates for its rally in these states.
The statement read, “Due to some unavoidable and unusual circumstances beyond control, our earlier scheduled presidential campaign rally in Ekiti and Ondo for 15th and 16th December 2023 are hereby postponed. A new date will be announced. We regret the inconvenience caused by this.”
This occurs a day after Peter Obi, the party’s Presidential candidate, and Baba Ahmed-Datti, his running mate, moved their campaign train to Kogi State.
Since the LP began holding rallies on October 18, the party has not adhered to its plan.
The rally that took place in Kogi on Tuesday was scheduled for October 23. Rallies for Niger, Kwara, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Cross River were among the other October events that were cancelled.
Additionally, the party did not hold the rallies in Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, and Sokoto states that were slated for November.
