Ahead of the upcoming election, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Nigeria Immigration Service to make the nation’s border impenetrable to infiltrators.
This was stated in a statement that the Ministry of Interior made available to journalists on Tuesday.
During the inauguration of the Katsina NIS command office and the roll-out of the upgraded e-Passport in the state, the Minister, Rauf Aregebesola, delivered Buhari’s directive through his media adviser, Sola Fasure.
He said, “President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered that Nigerian borders should be made impenetrable to foreign bodies who might want to come in and manipulate the election process or engage in other nefarious activities.”
Aregbesola claims that in accordance with the President’s directive, the NIS is to render Nigeria’s borders impenetrable up until and including the conclusion of all elections.
