CEO and publisher of Ovation International, Dele Momodu, has declared his intention to run for president in 2023.

Momodu made his intention known to the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his office in Abuja.

“Earlier today, I visited the great National Chairman of our great party PDP, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, at his party office in Abuja to present a letter of intent to seek the nomination of my party for the 2023 Presidential election,” he said in a post on his official Facebook page.

Momodu now joins a host of others such as Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi and Senator Orji Kalu who, this week, also declared their presidential intentions.

Their declarations came barely 24 hours after APC chieftain and former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, officially indicated his interest to become Nigeria’s next President.

As the race to clinch the presidential seat intensifies, more aspirants have been declaring their intentions.

“I feel within me that the country is passing through a phase and I believe strongly that the miracles that God helped us to do in Ebonyi State by the reason of all the successes we made in all the economic indices and all our programmes, that if given the opportunity, we can replicate it at the national level,” Governor Umahi said when asked why he wants to succeed the President.

Beyond that, he explained that his closeness with President Buhari given him a clear understanding of the President’s intentions and goodwill for the country and he intends to continue from where he stops come 2023.

Also speaking Senator Kalu explained that while he has nothing against the aspiration of Tinubu, he believes that the SouthEast is ripe for the Presidency and that it should be the turn of the region to produce the next President.

According to him, he is fit not only physically, but financially, to become the next president.
