2023 Presidential Campaign list: Tinubu, APC NWC, hold crucial meeting in Abuja

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, the APC governors, the Presidential Campaign Council, and members of the National Working Committee held a meeting at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, on Wednesday.

The meeting, which was a follow-up to the discussion between the APC governors and the NWC led by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, included Tinubu’s running mate Senator Kashim Shettima, Atiku Bagudu, the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Adams Oshimhole, the deputy Director General of the PCC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and Simon Lalong, the governor of Plateau State.
At the time this report, the meeting was still ongoing.

The meeting was expected to hold for two hours but it was likely to extend to four hours, due to the fact that the final council list would be concluded.

Although the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed, sources said that the candidate has decided to take the bull by the horn by inviting all stakeholders of his campaign including those who were aggrieved over the exclusion of their nominees from the initial 422-man list of the council to a political roundtable.

A source said, “Although the meeting was supposed to take two hours but from the look of things, it may extend to four. But at the end, some things are certain. They will conclude on the composition of the final council list as well as a date for the campaign kick-off.”

Festus Keyamo, the PCC’s chief spokesperson, and Bayo Onanuga, the director of media and communications, both acknowledged the meeting but they both refrained from commenting on the agenda.

“I really can’t say anything now until the end of the meeting,” Keyamo said.
