2023: Why opponents are jittery about Tinubu’s absence at peace pact signing – Keyamo
The Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council says the absence of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the signing of the Peace Pact is raising so much dust because he is the most important contender in the 2023 presidential race.
Tinubu has been physically represented by his running mate, Kashim Shettima, at the signing of peace pact organized by the National Peace Committee at the International Conference Centre, on Thursday, in Abuja.
The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, had amongst other opposition contenders, attacked Kashim Shettima, at the signing of the pact over the absence of his principal.
Sowore had, in a video posted on his social media page, narrated how he personally challenged the former governor of Borno state, over his sitting in the front when his principal was absent.
Reacting to the dust, Chief Spokesperson of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, said the attacks were an expression of his opponents’ fears.
Keyamo, who is also the Director of Public Affairs of the Presidential Campaign Council, noted that whether Tinubu was around or not, it’s obvious he is their nightmare.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment further stressed that the several inquiries and talks about Asiwaju’s whereabout are out of respect and fear as to what he is up to.
Keyamo, who also noted that even by mere absence, Asiwaju remains the biggest issue in his opponents’ campaign, added that the best political strategy is to keep ones opponents guessing what to expect.
His words: “Whether he’s around or not, they’re scared. @officialABAT has become their nightmare. The inquiries are out of FEAR as to what he is up to. The biggest political strategy is to keep your opponent guessing! Even by mere absence, @officialABAT remains the issue in this campaign! ?”
