The Katsina State Chapter of the Labour Party inaugurated a 12-member committee on Friday to address communication gaps between the party’s executive and its members following the 2023 general elections.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the party secretariat in Katsina, Party Chairman Comrade Ibrahim Musawa praised the National Chairman for fostering unity between the two groups, emphasizing that this collaboration would pave the way for electoral success in the 2027 general elections.
Musawa also revealed plans to implement measures ensuring the party’s mandate remains secure in future elections. He reaffirmed the party’s dedication to improving citizens’ lives and restoring sanity to the nation.
According to Musawa, the two major political parties in the country are twins under the mission of developing poverty and corruption thus, can never make any sense of belonging to both the current and incoming generations.
“It’s very clear, open and transparent that the Labour Party was the party that won the presidential seat during the 2023 general elections but was intimidated by the INEC and the judiciary in one way or the other.
“Every problem has a solution, we are coming up with the solution before the 2027 general elections where our mandate will never be stolen again.
“Our presidential candidate, Peter Obi happens to be the most committed with the distinct ideology that is ready to transform the lives of the masses to the level that no one has ever done it in the history of Nigeria.
“He has the same manifesto as the Labour Party which is internationally and genuinely interested in building an egalitarian society which is founded in social justice, peace, progress and good governance
“We remain committed to seeing that the lives of people have changed by bringing sanity to the land.
“We are suffering every day. Killings and insecurity are just like pure water, our country is seriously bleeding, we are starved with hunger, and we want the Labour Party to take over the leadership to restore the country.
“The two major political parties are twins under the mission of developing poverty and corruption and can never make any sense of belonging to us and the younger generation.
“We have tasted the two parties and yet we are suffering. We need to wake up until we see the end of the game”, he added.
The newly inaugurated committee members include Haruna Usman, Comrade Ibrahim Abu Musawa, Anas Lawal Rabe, Fahad Musa, Albert Nwadike, Yazid Abubakar, Lawal Ibrahim Ladan, Aliyu Suleiman, Hon. Shuaibu Sada, Simon Oparachi, Habila Maina, and Lukman Hussaini.
Earlier, party member Bilkisu Lawal administered the oath of allegiance to the new members.
