25 Crescent Varsity Students, others Get Free NIPR Membership

Twenty five undergrads of the Department of Mass Communication, Crescent University Abeokuta who attended the Pre-Conference of the maiden National Public Relations (NPR) Conference of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations have been admitted free as members of the seasoned profession.

President and Chairman of Council of the Institute, Dr Ike Neliaku, on behalf of the National Governing Council members, announced this amid a standing ovation of the audience.

Dr Neliaku promised that student membership certificates would be presented to all beneficiaries on Thursday 25th April 2024 at June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State, venue of the international conference.

Similarly, students of other institutions present at the engagement session also benefited from the largesse.They are now automatic members of the prestigious profession.

The institutions include Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Covenant University, Chrisland University, Olabisi Onabanjo University and South-Western University.

Dr Ike who came in company with Emeritus President, Dr Mike Okereke and Chairman, National Planning Committee, Yomi Badejo Okusanya, stressed to the budding practitioners the importance PR knowledge, other skills, networking, good appearance among others.

He charged the young practitioners that they should always dress to be taken seriously adding that “the way you are dressed is the way you are addressed” in public relations.
