28 killed in latest attack on southern Kaduna
Over 28 people were reportedly killed by terrorists in separate attacks on Sunday night in Malagum 1 and Sokwong communities of Kagoro Chiefdom in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Hon. Mathias Siman, the Council Chairman, could only confirm seven people were brutally killed in the Sokwong Community when he confirmed the incident on Monday.
The assault comes just five days after one in Malagum 1 that claimed the lives of three people.
He claimed that the terrorist had fully destroyed every home in the Sokwong Community and added that he had not yet confirmed the deaths in Malagum.
Mathias encouraged locals to maintain their composure as security services were sent to the region to conduct an investigation.
Over 22 deaths have been confirmed in Malagum 1, according to Kaura Local Government Area Speaker Hon. Atuk Stephen, while eight deaths have reportedly occurred in Sokwong.
Atuk called the deaths “deadly” and urged the Federal Government and security forces to step up measures to prevent such killings in the region.
“Attacks in our area have been consistent and multi dimensional with efforts of the security operatives and government not seen or felt,” he added.
At the time this story was filed, it was unable to reach Mohammed Jalige, the spokesman for the Kaduna State Police command.
