50 poisoned at Iraq wedding after eating spoilt food

At least 50 people were sickened by poisoned food at a wedding in Iraq’s northern province of Kirkuk, according to local media reports.

According to the report, the incident occurred in the town of Hawija, west of Kirkuk, the capital city of the cognominal province.

The regional health director, Ziyad Khalaf, noted a range of severity among the cases, with some being mild and others classified as serious.

He further assured that all patients have received requisite medical care at the hospital.

The incident happened the day after a deadly fire at a wedding hall in a mostly Christian town in Iraq’s Nineveh province. The fire killed 114 people and injured more than 200.
