72-year-old man in tractor vandalises Lagos market

In Yaba, Lagos state, a 72-year-old tractor driver, Isiaka Abdullahi, has been charged in Yaba Magistrates’ Court for allegedly causing N320m worth of damage to the property of two businessmen in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Reports have it that Abdullahi was charged before Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun on four counts of charge of willful damage.

According to the prosecutor, ASP Amedu Adoga, said Abdulahi committed the offence on December 1, 2022, when he drove his tractor into Mile 13 Owode Elede Market.

He also said Abdulahi and his accomplices destroyed bananas worth N20 million belonging to Garba Muhammed at Mile 13 Owode Elede Market on December 1, 2022.

The prosecutor explained that the offences contravened Sections 411, 350, 52, and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

He pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Olatunbosun granted him bail in the sum of N5 million with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned to November 20, 2023.
