The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his 74th birthday.
Born on March 29, 1952, Tinubu turns 74 on Sunday and continues to receive tributes from prominent Nigerians across the country.
In a congratulatory message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, Abbas described the President as a pro-democracy figure, seasoned public administrator, and freedom fighter who has significantly contributed to Nigeria’s democratic journey. He also noted that Tinubu has built a strong network of progressive Nigerians committed to national development and collective pride.
The statement added, “Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration, Nigeria is recording far-reaching reforms and realignment of its resources for the betterment of the people and for generations to come.
“When President Tinubu assumed office, he confronted the challenges facing the country head-on with unprecedented courage, taking tough decisions, which have since started yielding fruitful results and taking Nigeria to the path of growth and development.”
Abbas highlighted ongoing reforms, pointing to improvements in revenue, transparency, infrastructure, and security coordination. At the national convention of the All Progressives Congress, he said, “Today, the foundations are being reset. Revenues to states have improved. Transparency has increased. Infrastructure is advancing. Security coordination is strengthening. These are not isolated steps. They are part of a clear direction.”
Similarly, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, praised Tinubu’s leadership as visionary and impactful. In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogwu, Kalu said the President’s tenure has shaped Nigeria’s trajectory and positioned the country for greater progress.
He commended Tinubu’s commitment to national development and the economic policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda. “The economic initiatives and policies anchored on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda will continue to impact positively on the citizens and the generations to come,” Kalu said.
The Deputy Speaker also wished the President continued good health and wisdom in guiding the nation. “His Excellency, as you celebrate another year of life, I acknowledge your dedication to public service. I celebrate not just your life, but the impact your administration has had on our country. Your visionary leadership has shaped our nation’s destiny.
“May your vision continue to guide us towards greatness. I wish you many more years in good health and the wisdom to continue piloting the affairs of our nation. Happy Birthday, Your Excellency. Congratulations, sir,” Kalu added.
