Abducted Kaduna Catholic Priest regains freedom

The priest overseeing Saint Gerald’s Qausi Catholic Parish in the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Reverend Father Ibrahim Amos, has been freed after being abducted by bandits on Thursday morning.

This information was confirmed by the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Reverend Father Jacob Shanet, in a statement released on Friday. The statement noted that the priest was released by his captors around 10 p.m. on Thursday.

Reverend Father Shanet expressed gratitude to the security forces and the public for their prayers and support following the priest’s kidnapping.

He highlighted that the outpouring of love and prayers from the community is a testament to the church’s shared commitment to uphold and honor the dignity of human life.

Father Ibrahim Amos was taken from his home at the Saint Gerald’s Qausi Catholic Parish in the early hours of Thursday morning.
