Laven Denty Jacob, the representative of Pankshin South in the Plateau State House of Assembly, has been released from captivity.

He was kidnapped on Monday night from his home in Anguwan Kagji, located in the Dong community of Jos North Local Government Area.

Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon kwarpo Sylvanus,  confirmed the release to newsmen on Wednesday, saying the victim had been reunited with his family.

According to him, “he has been successfully released but we are yet to ascertain whether any ransom was given or paid. All we know is that he was released yesterday night.”

Sylvanus, the victim, was hale and hearty.

He urged residents to be security conscious and vigilant, reporting any suspicious behavior around them.

He appreciated the prompt action of security agencies and the cooperation of citizens, further encouraging residents to form vigilante groups to secure their areas given the level of insecurity in various communities.

“We the legislator will continue to advocate laws that will enhance security architecture in the state,“ he added.

The abduction of the lawmaker occurred just ten days after a corps member and a University of Jos student were kidnapped in the area.
