Senate President Godswill Akpabio has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure efforts, noting the significant transformation of the nation’s capital and other cities.

Speaking on Wednesday during the presentation of the 2025 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly, Akpabio highlighted key projects, including the Coastal Road linking Lagos to Calabar, which has improved connectivity across Nigeria.

“Your infrastructure renaissance has led to key developments like the Coastal Road and vital routes in Abuja, which now resembles London,” Akpabio said. “These projects are vital to our economy, connecting our people and driving growth.”

Akpabio also criticised ministers and government appointees who disregard National Assembly summons, emphasising that those who fail to attend have no place in Tinubu’s government.

He urged prompt responses to invitations, warning that constitutional powers would be used to take action against any official who neglects their duty to the Assembly.

President Tinubu presented a ₦49.7 trillion Budget Proposal, with significant allocations to defence, infrastructure, health, and education. The budget includes ₦4.91 trillion for security, ₦4.06 trillion for infrastructure, ₦2.4 trillion for health, and ₦3.5 trillion for education.
