ACAMB President, Rasheed Bolarinwa bags Champion Newspaper Corporate Media Manager of the Year Award

The Champion Newspapers Limited on Saturday, May 25 bestowed it’s prestigious Corporate Media Manager of the Year Award on President of the Association of Corporate & Marketing Communications Professionals in Nigeria Banks (ACAMB), Rasheed Bolarinwa. 

The Award ceremony held at the luxurious Eko Hotel in Lagos and had the creme-dela-creme of the society in attendance.

Receiving his award which was presented to him by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian In Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the ACAMB boss who doubles as Head, Corporate Communications of Polaris Bank said the award was another reminder that more needs to be done.

‘I dedicated this award to all my colleagues in ACAMB and Nigeria’s Banking Industry,’ Bolarinwa said in a short speech after receiving the award.

The outgoing Group Managing Director (GMD) of Zenith Bank, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu specially congratulated Bolarinwa on the award and urged him not to relent in his professional efforts for a healthy, customer friendly banking space in Nigeria.

NewsClick Nigeria reports that Bolarinwa earlier this year received Award of Excellence and Recognition as Corporate Communications Professional of the Year at the 2023 Osun NIPR (Nigerian Institute of Public Relations) Excellence in Public Service Awards.

He was in 2022 honoured with the ‘Outstanding PR Professional of the Year’ Award by the NIPR Ogun State chapter in conjunction with PR Primal Ltd. The Lagos State chapter of the Institute had also earlier honoured him for excellence service to the chapter.

The ACAMB President is regarded as one of Nigeria’s exciting and award-winning marketing and corporate communications professional whose craft and charisma have positively influenced the fortunes of the profession (and brands he has been associated with) northwards.

He is one of the few marcom practitioners that have a good mix of the academia and foot-soldier experience in a field that has seen tremendous global growth, buoyed by the social media and increasing ability of the sector to safeguard reputations, support growth of brands and enhance thought leadership.

Bolarinwa’s over two decades marcom odyssey (post-qualification), has seen him apply his well-honed skills in journalism, public relations, marketing, corporate communications, strategic brand management, insurance, HR, consulting and banking. The 1996 graduate of Mass Communication, is a thorough-bred-communicator and a certified Integrated Marketing Communications Practitioner and brand management professional educated with two Master’s degree (Communication & Language Arts, University of Ibadan & MSc in Mass Communication of University of Lagos) spiced with further function-specific and leadership trainings in top class local and foreign institutions under his belt

In an era where the industry is facing threatening headwinds from unschooled practitioners, pretenders and impostors, Bolarinwa has continued to uphold the tenets of best practice, driven by an uncompromising commitment to excellence and professionalism.

He was a serving Executive Committee member of ACAMB in the outgone administration where he held the position of President.

He belongs to key Professional Association’s in the Marcom space. A Fellow of National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Registered Practitioner & Member, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) among others..

His second and last term of two years as ACAMB President runs until January 23, 2026. He had earlier served as  two-term Secretary General of the Association.
