Mrs. Florence Okpe, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident to journalists in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

She explained that the incident, which happened at 8:00 a.m., resulted from speeding and route violations, leading to a head-on collision between the truck, which lacked a registration number, and the bus, bearing the mark SMK 808 YD.

Mrs. Okpe mentioned that a total of 17 individuals were involved, including seven men, nine women, and one female child.

“Unfortunately, nine persons were recorded dead from the crash, comprising five men and four women,” she said.
