The Adamawa State Government has announced the cancellation of the planned December 31 “Cross Over Night” programme that was set to take place at the Unity Flyover in Jimeta, Yola, the state capital.

The decision was made public on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Humwashi Wonosikou, and shared with journalists.

Wonosikou said the event was called off to ensure the safety and security of residents, noting that additional information would be communicated if necessary.

“The Adamawa State Government has cancelled all activities planned for the Cross Over Night on Dec. 31, 2025, to Jan. 1, 2026, at the Unity Fly-Over in Jimeta, Yola.

“The safety and security of citizens remain our top priority. The government will continue to work with security agencies to ensure peace and stability in the state,” the statement said.

The government also urged citizens, particularly residents of Yola North and South Local Government Areas, to remain vigilant and avoid crowded areas.

“Avoid any potential risks and report any suspicious activities to the authorities,” the statement added.
