Only one week after gunmen attacked traders returning from a market in the Heipang town of Plateau state’s Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, the bandits have killed two more traders.

It was gathered that the latest victims who were all women were returning from Kinat Community when they were attacked by the bandits on Friday evening.

Kinat Community is located in Halle Ward, which is part of the nearby Mangu Local Government Area.

Moses Jat, a trader who escaped the attack, confirmed the fatalities on Saturday.

Jat said, “Fulani herdmen  attacked some women of kinat community  coming from the market yesterday (Friday) evening. They killed two people and two other persons also sustained injuries.

“Those who were injured are  currently receiving treatment in the hospital . But the  question is what exactly did this people want that they are attacking even traders who were returning from the market ? It is by the Grace of God that some of us escaped the attack.

The Media officer for the Military Taskforce in charge of maintaining peace in the state, Captain Oya James could not be reached to speak on the incident when contacted by our correspondent as his phone line was switched off.

Also, efforts to speak with Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Alabo Alfred on the incident proved abortive as he phone rang out when contacted.
