Three people were killed by suspected herders once more in a village in Benue State’s Guma Local Government Area.

According to reports, the alleged herders broke into the Ngban settlement in the Guma local government on Sunday night.

As suspected herders have been attacking the governor Samuel Ortom council area, a reprieve does not appear to be in the cards.

The past three weeks have been terrible in several local governments since 13 people have been killed in the local governments of Tse Numgbera, Umella, Yogbo, and Ukohol.

Locals said that the most recent attack took place on Sunday at 4 p.m. when suspected herders stormed Ngbea in the Nyiev Council Ward of the Guma local government.

“They were Fulani herders. They came in their numbers and attacked our village around 4pm yesterday (Sunday).

“Three people were killed”, a local who identified himself as Iorhemen said.

When contacted, the State Command spokesperson, Catherine Anene confirmed the attack.

She said, “Three persons were killed in an attack at Guma, corpses have been removed to Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, while investigation is ongoing.”
