Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, has revealed plans to expand capacity on its Lagos-London route to meet growing demand.

This information was conveyed through the airline’s official Facebook account on Wednesday.

With the increased seating capacity, travelers considering Air Peace for their London flights now have more options available to them.

The statement read, “Due to overwhelming demand and interest in our London route, we have decided to increase the capacity on the route. This means that more seats are now available.

“Air Peace would like to thank the Nigerian population, both in Nigeria and in the United Kingdom, for their support. We do not take it for granted, and we will be doing our best to continue to make the whole country proud.”

The airline initiated its maiden voyage to London with 260 passengers on board a Boeing 777, which accommodates 274 seats, on Saturday. The route will operate daily from Lagos.

This action has disrupted the market dynamics, leading foreign airlines, which previously monopolized the route, to reconsider their pricing strategies.

Allen Onyema, the Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, disclosed that tickets for Lagos-London flights with his company were fully booked until September. Speaking on Arise TV on Monday, Onyema revealed that the airline currently owns more than 30 aircraft and has placed orders for an additional 33.

He emphasized Air Peace’s goal to expand its fleet to over 60 aircraft.
