Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has stated that the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s burial will be a celebration of life rather than a sombre occasion.
Aiyedatiwa made the remarks while meeting with Prof Kayode Ijadunola, the new Vice Chancellor of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin.
He regarded the former governor’s death as a profound loss due to the significant contributions he made in many areas.
According to him, “The funeral of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredelu will not be a sombre occasion. It will be a celebration of the life of a patriot who believed in life and humanity.”
The governor said the former governor will be given a well-deserved state burial, He added that Akeredolu’s family is being awaited for further briefing on the burial.
Aiyedatiwa noted that the government holds Elizade University’s Founder, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo in very high esteem.
He said the government and people of Ondo State are proud of the giant strides being made by the institution. He promised that the request of the Vice-Chancellor for the solar-powered light-up of the campus would be given attention.
Recall that Akeredolu died Wednesday, December 27, 2023, aged age of 67
