On Tuesday, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, administered the oath of office to the newly elected senators for the 10th National Assembly.
According to earlier report, Akpabio was elected as the President of the Senate.

Following a brief recess, Sani Tambuwal, the Clerk of the National Assembly, announced Akpabio as the Senate President.
Akpabio secured 63 votes, while his rival received 46 votes in the election.
