The former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has arrived at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja for the hearing of the alleged N110 billion fraud case filed against him.
This follows his compliance with an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday.
The EFCC had instituted the N110 billion fraud suit against the former governor. Bello, dressed in a white kaftan and blue cap, was accompanied by EFCC officials.
He will be arraigned before Justice Maryanne Anenih of the FCT High Court.
Bello is being prosecuted alongside Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu as the 1st to 3rd defendants, respectively, in the 16-count charge filed by the EFCC. Oricha and Hudu, however, have been granted administrative bail by the EFCC.
At the previous hearing on November 14, the EFCC had requested an adjournment to Wednesday, November 27, noting that the 30-day window for the summons issued earlier was still in effect.
The commission also sought an extension of time for the 1st Defendant, Yahaya Bello, to appear in court.
