Incoming US First Lady Melania Trump will be the subject of a new documentary on Amazon.

Mrs. Trump will serve as an executive producer for the Prime Video project, set to be released later this year.

While Amazon Prime has shared few details about the documentary, it has expressed excitement about revealing this “truly unique story.”

Neither Mrs. Trump nor her husband, President-Elect Donald Trump, has commented on the project since its announcement.

It remains unclear how involved she will be in the documentary, but her role as executive producer indicates she will have editorial control.

Filming for the project began in December 2024, and it is scheduled to be released in theaters and on the streaming platform in the second half of 2025, according to Amazon.

“Prime Video will be sharing more details on the project as filming progresses and release plans are finalized,” the company said in a statement.

“We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world.”

The president-elect will take the oath of office later this month.

The documentary will be directed by Brett Ratner, who faced sexual misconduct accusations in 2017 from several women, including actress Olivia Munn. Ratner’s lawyer has denied the allegations.

This marks the latest media project from Mrs. Trump, who released an autobiography in October that became a New York Times and Amazon best-seller.

Since leaving the White House in 2017, Mrs. Trump has made only a few public appearances with her husband.

Some US news outlets report that she will not reside in the White House when her husband returns to Washington later this month.

The documentary announcement is also the latest in a series of ties between the president-elect and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Last month, Bezos revealed that Amazon would contribute $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund and make an additional $1 million in-kind contribution.

Amazon also announced plans to stream Trump’s inauguration on its Prime platform.

Bezos recently called Trump’s re-election victory “an extraordinary political comeback” and dined with him at the president-elect’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
