The Anambra Patriots, a support group of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has commended Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for appointing some of its members into key positions in the state government.
The group praised the appointment of its convener, Okey Ezeobi, as Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, and its chairman, Ozo Damian Enekwechi, as Chief Executive Officer of Awka County Club. It also welcomed the reappointment of Chukwuemeka Agbata as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Information and Communications Technology Agency (ANSICTA).
To celebrate the appointments, members of the group gathered at their national secretariat in Awka, where they honoured the three appointees and applauded their previous contributions to the organisation and the state.
During the event, the group passed a vote of confidence on Governor Soludo, describing the appointments as a demonstration of his administration’s trust in the ability of young people to contribute meaningfully to governance.
Traditional ruler of Umueri Ancient Kingdom in Anambra East Local Government Area, Igwe Ben Emeka, said the appointees had made significant contributions to the growth of Anambra Patriots and the development of the state.
He expressed confidence that they would continue to uphold the group’s values and serve as worthy ambassadors of Anambra State.
Other members also congratulated the appointees and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering outstanding performance in their respective offices.
