Supporters of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, on Wednesday staged a protest at the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo State, demanding the immediate release of the party’s governorship primary election results.

The protesters, who identified themselves as loyalists of Adelabu, marched through the party secretariat carrying placards and chanting, “Where is our 2027 primary election result?” They accused the party leadership of delaying the announcement of the outcome after delegates had voted.

Some of the demonstrators alleged that the delay was creating uncertainty within the party and called on the APC National Working Committee to ensure transparency in the process. They insisted that the authentic result of the primary should be released without further delay.

The protest comes amid growing controversy surrounding the Oyo APC governorship primary, with conflicting claims over the outcome of the exercise. While different camps have circulated varying results, the party has yet to make an official declaration.

The development follows earlier appeals by Adelabu, who urged his supporters to remain calm and avoid being misled by unofficial reports, maintaining that only the APC national leadership has the authority to announce the final outcome of the primary.
