Hon. Golden Chioma, a supporter of Senator Magnus Abe and the APC’s Rivers State factional chairman, has left the party.

Former state House of Assembly member Chioma gave news reporters in Port Harcourt the announcement of his resignation.

Hon. Chioma, who has not yet revealed where he will run for office, declared he could not continue to be a member of a party where “one man employs the governor for the benefit of one man.”

He was alluding to Rotimi Amaechi, the current governor of Rivers State and former minister of transportation.

Chioma went on to say that he left the APC because the party did not recognize hard work, calling the system of rewards terrible.

All those who sacrificed their political future for the good of the party have been abandoned. People, who are not worth being mentioned are nominated and given appointments.

“But those who merit the offices are sidelined for obvious reasons. For me the reward system is appalling. For now I have left the party,” he stated.

When asked which party he would be joining, he simply said, “I will tell you in a few days time.”
